Where Has The Time Gone?

I asked Jeremy that question today. I actually said that I couldn't believe that Kingston is almost 4 years old. That leaves me with 1 more year until he starts school. I just can't believe it. It seems like yesterday I was holding him all the time and rocking him and teaching him letters.

I guess I was thinking about it today because Kingston had his very first soccer practice. If he is anything like his father, this is only the beginning of what the next 20 years will be for him. It is like he is growing up right before my eyes and he is caught in between being a baby and a big boy. He wears shin guards and cleats, but he still wants his milk in a sippy cup. He can talk about gravity, but he still wants his white blanket and monkey when he goes to bed at night. There is something strange about my "big boy" bringing me a book and asking me to get him milk and rock him, but the book is a Science book about "Asteroids, Meteors, and Comets". He is getting harder and harder to carry, but yet I know that pretty soon he won't want me to. It is so strange to see him making this transition, and it makes me wonder if I am prepared. I guess I better get prepared, because it is coming whether I am ready or not.

All of these thoughts made me so glad that I spent Valentine's Day with all 3 of my Valentine's. It was the best Valentine's Day I've ever had, and I know pretty soon 2 of my boys will not want to spend Valentine's Day with their mom.

By the way, we realized during soccer practice today that Kingston isn't very competitive. He actually had no interest in going after the ball that everyone else was kicking. He preferred to kick his own ball by himself. On the other hand, the coach asked for suggestions for a team name, and Kingston's suggestion was accepted!! The team is called the Comets!
